TaskSnap ("we", "our", "the app") is a task-capture tool available as a web app, Chrome extension, Windows desktop app, and Android app. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
Task data: The tasks you create, including title, notes, tags, due dates, source app, and completion status. This is the core data you choose to store in TaskSnap.
Text you capture: When you highlight text and create a task (via the Chrome extension, desktop app, or Android share menu), the selected text is sent to our database as the task content. We do not capture any text you do not explicitly select.
Your data is used solely to provide the TaskSnap service:
All data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. Supabase provides encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth with secure token-based sessions.
The Windows desktop app uses a global keyboard shortcut to capture selected text via the system clipboard. It temporarily reads and restores clipboard contents only when you press the hotkey. No background clipboard monitoring occurs.
Your tasks are stored as long as you have an account. You can delete individual tasks at any time from any client. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.
TaskSnap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
